Luton, Dunstable & District CP had the most successful fundraising Easter weekend ever due the branch booking the CP Wind machine for the duration of the holiday. Helen Balcombe, branch Coordinator explained that “This year we were looking for something totally different than the usual tombola’s lucky dips etc and thought we would like to give the CP wind machine a try having seen it in action at the Supreme Cat Show last year. Myself and my husband collected it from NCC on 20th April and used it for the popular St Georges Day Fair in Luton on Saturday 23rd April, then again on Easter Sunday 24th and Easter Monday 25th April at the Stockwood Park Country Fair in Luton and finally at the May Day Fair in Leighton Buzzard on 2nd May, I attended all these fundraising events and the popularity of the Wind machine went from strength to strength at every event with many people comparing it to the TV show The Crystal Maze. We always had a crowd gathered around us waiting for their turn to play and many envious glances from other stall holders! In addition, we were very, very fortunate with the weather this year with brilliant sunshine throughout all of the events. Where there was no electric supply outside we were able to borrow a small petrol generator from a fellow fosterer volunteer from our branch to operate the machine. We would definitely recommend that all branch’s give it a try to boost their fundraising efforts as it’s a unique piece of equipment, no other stalls had anything like it and its great fun for children and adults alike as it guarantees a prize every time. We will definitely be booking it again in the future putting the FUN back into FUNdraising.
