This is one of our most important and committed roles. We need kind people, who love these gentle creatures to work with us; to nurture and help rehome cats who may not have had the best start in life. For this reason and the support that Cats Protection provides to fosterers in this essential work, we will make sure you understand fully the commitment required before you take up this role. However it is one of the most rewarding in our Branch.
You will need patience and kindness; along with a desire to learn of feline health issues and hygiene. Experience with cats is essential, full support is provided and ongoing. Can you turn around the life of cats and help us find that forever home for these gentle animals?
For any cat that you foster, you will have made an enormous difference to that cat, which will often have come from desperate circumstances. Undoubtedly, the biggest benefit to fostering for animal lovers is the knowledge that you’re actively helping an animal progress towards a better future. Sometimes this can be the first time in its life that the cat you are fostering has felt safe, cared for and loved.
You can read more about becoming a cat fosterer here or watch a video about what is involved below.
