ToscaMere & Gillingham

On 7th January Tosca's owner suddenly died and he was immediately brought into the Branch. We were never really told very much about him other than he was probably around 11 years old and was the "husband's cat". So Tosca has now been with us for over 4 months and is still a sad and unhappy cat. Although we haven't really got to know him any better and he hasn't developed a relationship with all the volunteers he does seem to like two of the younger ones and enjoys some attention from them.

We feel that he may be older than 11 and we are not sure how good his sight and hearing are as he seems to become disorientated by the dark making him howl so we leave a light on. When approaching him we tend to speak otherwise he becomes fairly agitated. On the positive side he enjoys his food and absolutely loves it when the sun is out. We then see a totally different cat he rolls on his back, plays with his tail and appears to be really happy. A difficult cat to rehome - we feel he would be happy if he could have perhaps a summerhouse or shed in a secure secluded garden where he could just wander and do his own thing. He needs a new owner who could provide him with a safe warm environment. Who would be happy to provide all his favourite food, but have absolutely no expectations of being thanked!!!
