Before going to a new home every cat in our care is:
- fully health checked by the vet
- treated for fleas and worms
- vaccinated
- microchipped
- neutered
- homed with 4 weeks’ free pet insurance
The average cost of preparing a cat in our care for rehoming can reach well over £150 and that doesn't include any other necessary treatment. Cats Protection receives no Government funding and therefore relies solely on the members of the public to ensure that Branches like ours can continue their work.
Cats Protection asks adopters for a fee when rehoming a cat/kitten. If you feel able to make a donation on top of the fee that would, of course, be gratefully received. We know times are hard so thank you for your interest in giving a home to a CP cat.
For more explanation about why we charge a fee, please read Our Adoption Fee Explained.
Please call 01343-860397 if you are looking for a cat but can't see anything suitable. As we are all volunteers you may initially have to leave a message, but we will get back to you.
