Happy homing for Pumpkin

We are delighted to hear that one of our long stay cats, Pumpkin, has finally settled into a new home. Pumpkin was in Cats Protection's care for over a year and found being confined to a pen very stressful. She reacted badly to visitors and we thought we would never find her the right home. However, she was finally given a chance and her new owners are absolutely delighted with her.

“She’s come a very long way from the somewhat cagey, shy cat that she was when we first saw her and took her home six weeks ago! Having been told that she had been in your care for a year and that she was a bit highly strung, we expected it to take a long time for her to settle in. We gave her plenty of space, but she was surprisingly sociable from day one - albeit on her own terms. After only a couple of weeks of adjustment, she’s become a perfect house cat; you really wouldn’t know that she’d been ‘in care’ for such a long period of time. We’re extremely happy that we went ahead and adopted a cat in need from such a wonderful charity rather than buying a kitten. To anyone who wants a cat, and is considering adopting, but is slightly hesitant; our advice would be to just do it! It’s the right thing to do when so many cats are in need of a good home – you won’t regret it”

It just goes to show that you can't judge a cat on their behaviour when they are confined to a pen. Please take a closer look at some of our more nervous cats as they could become your dream pet!
