Rebecca Jones

Rebecca Jones

I have always been passionate about animals, especially cats and felt that it would be good to helps other cats less fortunate than my own six, who are loved dearly. Hence my decision to support Cats Protection, a cause very close to my heart. Rebecca will be joined by her partner, Steve Yelding who will be running the distance with her to raise as much as they can for cats Protection.

My two cats, Jasmine and Jasper, were adopted from Cats Protection when they were kittens. They are now 15 years old and despite a terrible year of illness for them both, I am very lucky that they are still with me and remain fabulously loving cats. Running the Flora London Marathon for Cats Protection enables me to raise lots of money for other kitties who are not as fortunate as mine and need all of our help to ensure they have a long and comfortable life.

Julie Draper

After supporting Cats Protection in the 2007 Flora London Marathon, I am now a regular volunteer for the Worcester & District Branch. I wish to help with the much needed fundraising that is always so vital in helping more cats and kittens, just like my two little girls were once helped by Cats Protection. I used to be in awe of those people who ran a marathon and here I am actually doing it! Good luck to everyone else who is running for CP in 2008.

I started running two years ago and after a night out with a friend, I found myself agreeing to enter the Bristol Half Marathon! The Flora London Marathon brings the next step and a huge personal challenge. I also look forward to raise money for the Bristol & District Branch who I have been involved in for a long time.

Rachel Hagger

Rachel Haggar

I have been running for many years, during which time I have done several half marathons, including for several animal charities, and two London Marathons. This will be my third, and my first run for Cats Protection. I believe that their work is vitally important in caring for the thousands of cats and kittens who find themselves in need of help. Living with four abandoned cats, I am well aware of the often heartbreaking stories that accompany these little creatures, and so want to do all that I can to help them.

I feel very strongly about animals not being cared for. Cats are my favourite animals as they are fun, graceful, perfect companions. I own two cat, Merlin Junior and Duff – they are my biggest fans and will be watching me running from ‘their’ sofa.
