SPONSOR A CAT CABIN!

Help cat-after-cat from just £4 a month...

Every year our branch rescues takes in many cats and kittens that are abandoned or no longer wanted by their owners. They are cared for in Cat Cabins by our fosterers while we seek loving, new owners.

By donating just £4 a month, you could be helping to cover the costs of running a Cat Cabin. This includes providing food, litter and veterinary treatment for its residents, as well as toys, a scratching post and a comfy bed. We neuter, vaccinate (against cat flu, enteritis & leukaemia), microchip, worm, de-flea and vet check every cat that we rehome. We also ensure that every cat or kitten adopted also comes with 6 weeks' free pet insurance.

Over the course of a year, your Cat Cabin could be home to a succession of needy cats and kittens, helping them on their way to a permanent home. As a sponsor, you will know that you have helped cats and kittens to have a secure place to rest and recover from their traumas before being rehomed.

We will acknowledge your generosity by saying 'thank you' with a Sponsorship Certificate and will keep you up-to-date with details of cats that come to stay in your cabin. You will be making a difference to the lives of so many cats!

Sponsors of our Cat Cabins have helped Harry, who had an life expectancy of just 18 months, live to a happy and healthy 7 years old and counting!

Born with a genetic heart condition, Harry (pictured below) has been able to have a normal cat life because of the generosity of sponsorship for his medication and veterinary welfare. This is all down to sponsors and the exceptional care we have been able to provide - his vet is amazed by what has been achieved.

You can help cats like Harry by Sponsoring a Cat Cabin!

You can become a Sponser a cat cabin online by clicking here to pay with a card. If you'd prefer to pay with a cheque (£48), please download our form and send to us with your cheque. Thank you!

BECOME A VOLUNTEER!

We're looking for committed cat-loving volunteers to help in the following areas...

  • Home visitors. Such a rewarding role, having a key part in the re-homing of our cats and kittens by visiting potential owners in their own homes.
  • • Lost & Found Officer. We're looking for a proactive person with good communication skills, access to email and transport, who can really get their teeth into creating a system that results in matches of lost cats and successful reunions!
  • Fostering a cat or kittens for a short time until a new home is found. A really hands-on job which can be done in a spare room or cat cabin in your garden.
  • Rescue work: Helping unwanted, stray and abandoned cats and kittens, as well as neutering work with farm cats. Lots of contact with real, needy cats and kittens (See photo below)
  • Collecting / Sorting Bric a Brac. If you like a rummage and have wheels, this could be the ideal role for you!
  • Helping at events. We always needs people to help set up and staff our stalls at events. It's a great opportunity to meet like-minded people and have some quality cat chat! (See photo below)
  • Poster updaters. Help find new homes for cats by advertising at work or on local noticeboards.
  • Have a collecting box at work and/or home and collect all that spare change to help fund our voluntary branch.
  • Car booters: Do you love car boot sales and fancy doing some for our branch (with our goods)? We're ready to go if you are!

Of course, it's up to you how much, and when, you help...

The qualifications we ask for, apart from the love of cats, are that you have a sense of humour and can work as part of a team. You will have to remain calm and logical in difficult situations and not let your heart rule your head.

We do most of our work at weekends with some in the evening, too. You can work and volunteer - most of us do!

The main benefit from volunteering for Cats Protection is job satisfaction. You will meet some interesting people and gain a sense of achievement from doing your bit to assist the poor, sick and needy cats in the North Herts area.

Please contact us if you're interested in joining our enthusiastic team!
