Adopt a cat

All cats taken into the care of Cats Protection are vet checked to ensure they are healthy, vaccinated, neutered (if they are old enough) and assessed for personality. We evaluate your needs and try to ensure that we find you your perfect partner. After all, we hope you'll be together for a very long time!

Please note that we are usually only able to home in our branch area, although we may be able to home in a surrounding branch with their permission. If you would like to view the branch areas, please go to the main Cats Protection website, where you will be able to contact your local branch by clicking on Find Us on the left side of the page.

We do not home kittens to families with young children, as kittens have needle-like teeth and claws and are liable to scratch and bite, especially when poked and prodded by little fingers! We DO however home adult cats to families with small children as adult cats will usually tolerate children quite happily.

We also do not home individual kittens to people who work full-time, as they require a lot of attention when they are tiny, and don't like to be left on their own as they feel very insecure and frightened, and this can lead to aggressive behaviour.  We do not neuter/spay kittens until they are over approximately five months old (four months for feral kittens).

If you have never owned a cat before and are concerned about taking on a cat without any experience, we will be happy to give you as much advice and support as you need. After all, our primary aim is to match cats with people, and if you need help you will find that we have HEAPS of experience that we will gladly pass on.

If you wish to rehome one of our cats or have a cat taken into care, please give us a call on 07753 697238

or email outeraberdeencats@gmail.com

****NEW ADOPTION FEE****

Cats Protection asks adopters for a fee when rehoming a cat. If you feel able to make a donation on top of the fee that would, of course, be gratefully received. We know times are hard so thank you for your decision to rehome a CP cat!
