Casual Fosterers

Casual Foster Carers needed URGENTLY!

This year we had a massive influx of kittens during the summer which resulted in a massive drain on our resources. The need for more foster carers has become apparent and we are looking for casual fosterers to volunteer on a flexible basis to fit in with your lifestyle.

This can be from 2 weeks to 2 months a year, or just for a day , as we often need somewhere just to hold a cat overnight.

All costs are met by us and we will provide you with all the necessary equipment required.

If you have a spare room which is easy to disinfect between cats and a little time on your hands please contact us and we will be happy to meet with you and discussed what’s involved. (Fosterer’s own cats MUST be vaccinated).

PLEASE CONTACT: Diane on 0845 371 2753,
or complete the form on the volunteering page and we will get back to you.

Fosterers provide a very important role in caring for our cats whilst they are waiting for a new home.

OUTDOOR / INDOOR FOSTER CARERS:

We have both INDOOR AND OUTDOOR Foster Carers who provide essential information on cat's personality, food likes and dislikes and what sort of home would be best for it. Outdoor foster carers are provided with a purpose-built pen erected in their garden, which has a run and heated sleeping area, whilst indoor foster carers need a spare room in a quiet part of the house.

All costs are to be met by the branch and this will include food, cat litter and accessories (an allowance will be paid for heating costs if you have an outdoor pen).

" I have a double pen and have fostered around 15 cats in the last year. I absolutely love every minute of it and find it very rewarding. I was a bit nervous to start with but Cats protection have provided me with the support and training I need to be a good foster carer - best thing I have ever done!" Karen - Hatt, Saltash.

We are always looking for foster carers who can give cats the care and attention they need.
