Branch Coordinators Report
2011 was a challenging year for our Branch, faced as we were with two multi-cat households being reported
within weeks of each other, together with increased numbers of cats being relinquished.
Our waiting list has been consistently high throughout the year. Capacity was additional limited by fewer foster
homes. We are actively looking to recruit more. This has meant using a boarding cattery, which, although
excellent, has meant extra costs. Even so, we have been unable to take in as many cats as we would have
liked and so, regrettably, our homing numbers are down on 2010 - an exceptional year.
Supporting our front line activities of rescuing and rehoming, is a team of volunteers, who are involved in
fostering cats, visiting potential new homes, raising money, obtaining publicity and raising awareness,
maintaining the statistics, answering the Branch telephone, running neutering campaigns and administration
- all important functions in the successful running of the branch.
Thank you to all those kind people who help us in this respect with donations, either monetary, items for us
to sell or use, and food. This branch could not run as successfully without you! We always open to new ideas
for raising funds, if you have any ideas then please contact us.
