Adopting from Cats Protection means that you can be sure your little character will have received the best possible start, so that you can adopt with confidence

Your prospective cat will have received the very best standard of love and care whilst they were with us, so when you adopt one of the cats in our care, you can feel safe in the knowledge that he has been given the best possible start to life
Our cats receive full medical treatment and general health support, along with the added bonus of being fostered on a one-to-one basis, so you can be sure that the cat or kitten you are considering adopting is happy and healthy
By the time your cat or kitten is ready to go to his new home he will have been:
- Fully examined by a veterinary surgeon
- Vaccinated at least once against flu and enteritis
- Treated against fleas, tapeworm and roundworm
- Neuterered if old enough
- Microchipped
- He will also come with four weeks Petplan insurance cover, which you may choose to continue, giving invaluable peace of mind and reassurance as you and your cat embark on this lifelong friendship
While the love and attention they get comes free, these other aspects such as veterinary treatment, neutering and microchipping has to be paid for. None of this comes cheap but we think it is worth it to provide you with a happy, healthy cat. On average we spend well in excess of £100 per cat in our care. That is why we ask all adopters for a fee. It allows us to carry on helping cats in need
Adoption process
Because we feel it is very important to match the right cat to their right owner, and your specific circumstances will not suit every cat, everyone offering a home to one of our cats or kittens will receive a home visit from one of our team. They will meet with you to complete the relevant paperwork and will be able to answer any questions you may have. Our main concern is that the cat is going to be loved and have a safe home for life
Non-fostered adoption
Not all of the cats featured in the gallery are in our care. As a small branch without a shelter we can only take in a limited number of cats and always have a waiting list, due to the small number of fosterers. However the branch will actively assist anyone needing to rehome their cat via its' "Home to Home" service, whereby we act as a go between for people needing to rehome their cat.We will still carry out a home visit to make sure any new home is suitable and we appreciate a donation from both sides of the rehoming process
