Volunteering

Tortoiseshell & white catCats Protection welcomes volunteers with open arms, whether you are young or old, male or female, there's a place for you with us. Not all our volunteer roles require you to have contact with our cats. There are lots of ways that you can get involved in supporting the charity, from a few hours on an occasional weekend collecting at a tin shake, to editing our newsletters, to fostering a cat in a pen in your garden or a designated room in your home

  • You will have the opportunity to make a real difference to cats and kittens in South Wirral
  • You will be able to develop new skills, expand your knowledge and use your existing expertise
  • You will meet new people, make new friendships and work as part of a dedicated team
  • You will become a key member in the UK’s largest feline charity
We are currently looking to recruit the following volunteer roles:

Donating your time and skills will make a huge difference to every cat in our care, so please have a look at all of our volunteering opportunities and let us know if you are interested in volunteering with the South Wirral branch. You can read in more detail about these volunteer opportunities by clicking on the left hand menu at the top of the page. If you feel any of these roles is for you we would be pleased to hear from you

Transport Volunteer

Our transport volunteers help our teams and volunteer groups move equipment, litter, food, money – and even cats! They have the vital role of connecting our network of volunteers, sites, vets and donors. Without them we wouldn’t be able to help the thousands of cats each year that rely on us as they enable our volunteer groups and teams to effectively help our feline friends.

Fosterer support volunteer

Across the UK our feline friends looking for new homes are cared for by volunteer fosterers in their homes or purpose built pens in their gardens. Our fosterer support volunteers don’t directly look after cats themselves, but they provide the vital assistance and support needed for our volunteer fosterers to focus on looking after the cats in their care. The support they provide can include answering queries, delivering supplies, and even moving cats from one fosterer to another.

Fundraising events organiser

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising events organisers have the exciting and varied role of helping plan and deliver local fundraising events. They support a team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to help our feline friends. Our fundraising events organisers use their passion for cats and people to plan cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!
