Fundraiser - Volunteer Role Description

How you will make a difference to cats and people:
This role aims to help promote the charity's cat welfare messages whilst also generating income to support our work. The cats in our care rely on us generating donations from people who love cats and count on volunteers like you to make those donations happen. Working alongside a team of friendly, enthuiastic volunteers, you will play a key part in raising money and awareness through local fundraising events and activities

What the role involves:
  • In this role you will assist with organising and running fundraising events in your local area
  • You will have the opportunity to get your thinking cap on and share fundraising ideas in meetings with other volunteers and then put those ideas into action
  • As well as assisting with the running of events, we encourage you to share your passion for cat welfare and promote our work to the public at the event. Fund raising also means knowing and understanding our work and aims and passing that information on to others
  • Most of all you should have a passion for giving cats a second chance in life
Skills and experience required or could be developed in this role:
  • Enthusiasm, commitment and ability to work well with other members of the Fundraising Team
  • Good communication skills
  • Confidence in dealing with the public
  • Comfortable handling money
  • Knowledge of local community networks would be an advantage
Time expectation:
This is a very flexible role where the hours you will be needed for are dependent upon the fudnraising events you are involved in. This role can easily accommodate volunteers who wish to give either a few hours a month or a few hours every several months. It is up to you how often you volunteer

How we will support you:
You will receive full training and support in your role. Our Fundraising Team Leader will provide you with support, guidance and direction to ensure that you have a positive, enjoyable volunteering experience. There is the opportunity to share ideas and plans with other fundraisers through CatNav (CP's Extranet website)

Cats Protection corporate clothing will be provided and reasonable expenses will be paid
