      ST AUSTELL & DISTRICT BRANCH

         CATS PROTECTION

                         OUR AIMS

To reduce the number of stray and unwanted cats and kittens, by rehabilitating and re-homing them.

To encourage the neutering of all cats and kittens.

To inform the public on the care of cats and kittens.

This branch covers the following postal areas in mid Cornwall, PL22, PL23, PL24, PL25, and PL26.

                  ABOUT THIS BRANCH

The St Austell and district Branch was started in 2002 with just a small band of helpers to get it going. We now have 15 pens in which to keep and look after cats and kittens from this area until they are found a safe new home. As soon as we have a good home for a cat, then we can bring into our care another cat or kitten who is in need of love and attention.

There are many reasons why cats become homeless, they may stray or hitch a ride and not get home again. Owners circumstances may change and they are no longer able to have the cats and kittens with them.

All cats and kittens that come into our care are checked by the veterinary, wormed, flea-ed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. If they have any other health problems, these are also treated, all cats and kittens, when old enough are neutered.

NEUTERING

We do have a scheme of vouchers for neutering cats, and kittens, who need to be 5 to 6 months old. We can supply you with a voucher which will cover approximately, a third of the costs.  This needs to be arranged with our neutering officer, 01726 74189, before the cat is taken to the vets.
