Charlie has landed on his paws

Charlie is a large, handsome ginger tom who came into the centre as a stray. We believe he'd been a stray for some while but, as he is a very affectionate cat, he must have had a home at some point.

He was with us for over 3 months without a single visitor, a fact that his new owners find hard to believe. That said, he is very energetic and playful but can be a bit of a 'biter' at times  so wouldn't have been suitable for a family with small children. What he needed was a quiet home with lots of companionship, stimulation and love... and that's just what he's found.

A mature couple came to see him one day, having suddenly lost a much- loved, ginger Maine Coon. They were hoping to share their live with another large, long-haired, ginger male but weren't having any success in finding one. when they saw Charlie, they immediately knew he was for them.

Charlie has settled exceptionally well into his new home in a Devon village.  He immediatly bonded with his owners, who cant imagine life without him.

He is so affectionate, and very cheeky, they say.  Its a joy to see to see him rush around the garden, climbing trees and watching the birds. then at the end of the day, he climbs onto one of our laps for a big cuddle.

When he arrived, some of his fur was course and his tail rather thin. Now That he's able to run about in the air, he is a picture of health and happiness. His coat is silky and fluffed out, making him look an even larger cat!.

He is marbled rather than striped, and is dark ginger with a pale tummy, so we call him 'treacle and custard'. And whilst in the early days he would constantly scavenge for food,- a result of his time as a stray no dout- he has now settled into a regular routine.

He is just the cat we were looking for to fill the void in our lives, and it would appear we are just what he needed too. Its been a real happy ending for us all, and we look foward to many years of life together.
