Fundraising

We held our summer Coffee Morning in Dalbeattie on Saturday 23 July and, as ever, the support was brilliant! Lots of people turned up for CP goods, bric-a-brac, books, the tombola and raffle etc - the home baking sold out very quickly! We raised over £700, which will greatly help with the cost of caring for cats and kittens in our area, especially with food and vets' bills being more expensive, just like everything else. We are always amazed, and very grateful, at the way Dalbeattie supports us, so thank you to all who came, and to all the helpers who gave up their time to be there. Our Christmas Coffee Morning is on19 November, and we will be having another charity shop in the town on October 13-15. The one we had in April was very successful and it is a great way to sell donated goods that we don't have room for at the Coffee Mornings. If you have any items you would like to donate, please give us a ring nearer the time or bring them to the shop on those dates.

As usual we had a stall at the Kirkcudbright Medieval Fayre and Children's Festival this year. The former was rather a panic, as the date had been changed and we didn't realise until the day before! We also had a stall at the Thornhill Gala (we like to get around the whole of our large area!) and these events raised over £1100 for the cats.

Fundraising in this way involves a lot of hard work, but is worth it for more than the money we raise, however necessary, as we have lots of conversations about cats, meet people who have given our cats and kittens homes, and also people who are interested in giving a cat a home. We also enjoy them!

All money earned through these events go towards caring for cats and kittens, vet's bills, food etc. and we could certainly not do all we do without all the support we receive in so many different ways.
