What we do

The Stockport Branch of the Cats Protection is just one of over two hundred and fifty branches of the Cats Protection around the UK. All these branches are run by voluntary unpaid staff, with one thing in common - we all love cats.

We have a small dedicated team of volunteers whose aims are to:- Rescue, rehabilitate and re-home cats and kittens (who for various reasons find themselves in need of our help).

We provide information to the public on the care of cats and kittens.

Encourage the neutering of all cats not required for breeding.

So what areas do we cover? Although we´re based in Stockport, our catchment area tends to be flexible! Obviously as part of a largely urban area our home turf plays a major part in our lives, but beyond Stockport we neuter cats in Salford, Wythenshawe and Hulme - and anywhere in between! But we are severely limited by our resources: people, time and money.

Stockport Cats Protection actively welcomes any volunteers who would like to help the Branch in any capacity. If you can spare a few hours a month to help your local branch please get in touch.

We really do need all the help we can get - YOUR efforts could make a big difference to giving our local cats a better life.
