Oh cat, beautiful cat,
Your such a wondrous sight.
To see you fills my heart
With much delight.
You walk with pride and dignity .
Yet you stalk with silent stealth.
Ancient indeed you are.
But of this you have no care,
Through the ages to the
Gods you have spoke.
Yet some folk treat you as a pet.
Or a silly joke,
Try to hold you down, train you
To fetch or carry.
But I am glad
You will have none of that,
For even by the fires you may
Have sat,
Still full of mystery you are.
Out tonight you will go
Under the bright moonlight
And stars you will stroll,
To the gods, you will talk.
But that no surprise to me.
For it is clear to see.
A god you are yourself,
And always will be.
Oh cat you wondrous one.
