Picture will Help Cats Protection
A Portlethen picture framer and gallery has teamed up with local artist, Bern Ross, to support Stonehaven Cats Protection.
The work on offer, called ‘Still Standing Tall’ is a colourful impression of a favourite feature of the Scottish coastline – a gable-end ruin on the edge of a cliff. “
Bern Ross has been an artist, writer and maker all her life but settled on abstract expressionist painting most recently after moving to Stonehaven. She and her husband offered a home to a young cat through Cats Protection and a few weeks later their moggy moved in. “He needed a lot of attention and that’s what he gets here! Cats Protection do such great work.”
All proceeds from the sale of Still Standing Tall (along with its
poem) are to go to Stonehaven Cats Protection, so please give this
picture some extra thought.
Pussy cat, pussy
cat,
where have you
been?
Searching round Scotland
to bow to The
Queen?
“I was just down
at Crawton
to look at the
birds,
to watch out for
puffins
and see all the
gulls.
I bathed in the
sunshine
and climbed on
the wall
and had a nice
sleep, near the big waterfall.”
Pussy cat, pussy
cat,
where are you
now?
“I’m hoping some
mice
come through this
great big hole.”
