Eurogroup for animals which campaigns at EU level on animal welfare issues (Cats Protection is a member) has been asking MEPs to sign up to the Eurogroup pledge on animal welfare. The pledge covers a range of issues such as animal transportation and farm animals but there is a part of the pledge which is very important for cat welfare and refers to the need for:
“EU wide standards for breeding and trade of companion animals to protect animal welfare and ensure traceability”
Eurogroup has produced a list by Country of “animal welfare friendly” MEPs so if any branch member or individual wants to check any of their local Euro candidates before May 22nd you can go to:
