Welcome to the HAVERHILL & STOUR VALLEY Branch of Cats Protection This branch was established in 2001 and is run completely by dedicated volunteers. We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome cats and kittens, currently using three outside pens and a number of spare rooms in fosterers’ homes.

Our Branch is located in Suffolk and we cover the following postcodes: CB9 (Haverhill and surrounding areas), CB8 (the areas very near to Haverhill), CB10 (covered in part), CO10 (covered in part).

Before our cats and kittens are homed, they are checked by qualified veterinary surgeons, neutered if old enough, vaccinated, microchipped and treated for fleas and worms. We take in cats of all ages and it is not our policy to put elderly or disabled animals to sleep.

They are looked after by our fosterers until a suitable new home can be found. We also look after a number of feral colonies in Haverhill and surrounding areas and recently removed eleven unneutered cats from a local factory where they had been breeding unchecked. The main areas we cover are Haverhill, Great Wratting, Withersfield, the Thurlows, Kedington, Hundon, Barnardiston, Glemsford, Cavendish, Clare, Sturmer, Steeple Bumpstead, but occasionally go further afield

The slide show below shows a few of the cats waiting to be rehomed
