Kirkcowan Primary School Christmas Fair

Kirkcowan Primary School Christmas Fair

This was a busy weekend, as the day after Wigtown's Winter Fest we were at Kirkcowan Primary School with our stall. This time Sandi McKinnon was helping on the stall and Andrea kept popping between kitchen duties for the school and Cats Protection. Thanks to both of you for your help and support. The school kindly gave us two tables and a space for our display and information board. Amazingly we filled the two tables and had extra stock under, waiting for a place to be made on the table. It was a very busy event, Kirkcowan Village is well known for supporting it's events to the full and their Christmas Fair was no exception. We made some good sales and had a lot of interest in what we do. The aim of doing these events is not only to raise much needed funds, but to increase awareness amongst the local communities and the needy plight of the cats in waiting for their new homes. We need to plan as many fo these sort of events as we can, but that is only possible if we have volunteers to help man the stalls on the day. If you would be interested in doing this sort of fundraising, please leave a message for Sally in "fundraising" and be added to the list of helpers.

The weekend raised £262 to date, but we expect more from sales at Solway Books in Kirkcudbright, who have kindly put our leftover handcrafted goods in their shop for Christmas. They are not charging us commision and are giving us good exposure. So if you're in Kirkcudbright, pop in and see them, they may still have some of our goodies left.
Many thanks to Kirkcowan Primary for inviting us into their event and congratulations on their day, I believe they did very well.
