Animals find the taste of antifreeze sweet and palatable. Each year, many cats, dogs and wild animals die a slow death from kidney failure after ingesting this substance.
This winter there have already been eight cat deaths in Shropshire attributed to antifreeze.
A bittering agent introduced into commercially antifreeze would greatly reduce the number of poisonings. We therefore encourage you to sign this HM Government e-petition to bring in legislation to enforce this.
