What we do

Telford & District Cats Protection looks after the welfare of cats in the Telford area and also some surrounding areas such as Newport, Shifnal and Much Wenlock (TF1 to TF8 and TF10 to TF13). We are run entirely by volunteers.

We are not a rescue centre; our cats are cared for either by volunteers in their own homes, or occasionally in a veterinary practice.

Our main objectives are:
  • Homing - finding good homes for cats in need
  • Neutering - encouraging the neutering of cats
  • Information - providing advice to the public

Our team of volunteers:
  • Foster cats until they are ready for homing
  • Find suitable homes for our cats
  • Provide neutering vouchers for cats whose owners are on benefits
  • Loan out traps for the neutering of ferals
  • Provide a Lost & Found line to reunite cats with their owners
  • Organise stalls and other events to raise money to run the branch

Our work depends entirely on volunteers, so please see our Volunteering section for ways you could help us.
