Cats Protection is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Statement has been drafted to meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998. How do we collect information?
We may obtain personal information from you when you ask about our activities, register with us, send or receive an e-mail, buy our goods online, make a donation or otherwise provide us with personal information. We may also receive information about you from third parties, for example from a friend who wants to tell you about the website.
What information do we collect?
The information we might collect includes your full name, date of birth, e-mail address, postal address, telephone number, fax number, credit/debit card info or bank account details if setting up a Direct Debit.
All the forms and transactions on this site meet with data protection requirements. If you are making a donation or enquiring about Cats Protection we will ask you whether you'd like to receive future mailings and updates from Cats Protection, and also whether you would like to receive mailings from other selected charities and organisations. If you choose not to, your name will not be put forward in this way.
How do we use this information?
We will use your personal information to provide you with the services, products or information you have requested, for administration purposes and to further our charitable aims, including for fundraising activities. We may need to share your information with our service providers, associated organisations and agents for these purposes.
We may share your information with other organisations who are supportive of our aims and objectives. We will only use your personal information for direct marketing purposes if we are permitted to do so by law or if we have your consent. 'Cookies' are small pieces of information stored on the hard drive of a user's computer which contain information about the user.
Cats Protection use session cookies to ensure that you can interact with our websites successfully. These will record data entered by you so that it is available from one screen to the next, but it is not recorded or held by us after you leave our websites. These session cookies exist only as long as the browser remains open. Once the browser is closed, the cookie is deactivated.
How do we protect personal information?
We use a secure server when you make a donation via our website. We also take appropriate measures to ensure that the information you disclose to us remains secure, accurate, up to date and kept only for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it is used.
Will we disclose the information we collect to outside parties?
As indicated above, we may pass your information to our service providers, agents and associated organisations, and, if you have consented, to other organisations who may share our objectives. We may also need to disclose your information if required to do so by law.
By providing us with your personal data, including sensitive personal data such as your name, postal address, e-mail contact details or banking and credit card, you consent to the collection and use of any information you provide in accordance with the above purposes and this privacy statement.
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you and to have any inaccuracies in your information corrected.
