Trekfest - The Peaks - 25km

Event Overview

The Peak District is home to some absolutely stunning scenery and more than lives up to its reputation as one of Britain’s most inspiring National Parks. It is also home to some equally stunning climbs, including the moorland plateau, Kinder Scout. Part of the moor, at 636 metres (2,087 ft), is the highest point in the Peak District, the highest point in Derbyshire and the highest point in the East Midlands. The Peaks TrekFest challenge routes encompass an impressive network of footpaths and bridleways, including parts of The Pennine Way and The Pennine Bridleway.

The challenge

Taking on TrekFest is no mean feat, but the challenge is simple – every trekker aims to complete one of the four brand new distances detailed above. There is no getting away from the fact that TrekFest is tough; but it is achievable, as around 1,500 trekkers from 2015 will tell you.

It hurts; it will push you; there are moments when you will doubt yourself, but you can and will succeed with the right physical training and mental preparation.
You can register as a team and support each other or register as an individual and the fantastic TrekFest crew will support you.

The TrekFest Village

The Peaks ‘TrekFest Village’ is based in Hope Valley and has loads of facilities available for participants – showers, camping plots and hot food served regularly. All the challenge routes will start and finish at the village. You are welcome to come along and camp on the Friday night before your challenge. Hot food will be available to buy and tents, caravans and campervans are welcome, so bring the family and make a weekend of it!

We will provide you with full support and ideas to ensure you feel confident in raising the required minimum.

We understand the commitment, courage and thought that goes into participating in a challenge event on behalf of Cats Protection and promise we will do our very best to give you all the help and support you need to have a successful challenge and raise lots of much needed funds to help us care for cats and kittens.
