Lost and Found

WELCOME  TO THE  LOST and  FOUND  CAT  PAGE.

Our Branch has a ‘register’ and we would welcome you to list your cat if you think it has gone missing.   However please give your cat time to return home as cats do tend to go for a walkabout and return home a few days later, a little bit worse for wear but nothing that a good meal and a cuddle couldn't put right.

If you think you have come across a ‘Stray’ please do not  automatically take it into your home and ring us.

The cat could well have just moved into your area with its owner or it could be someone’s  new family pet that has just been allowed out  and is exploring  the gardens. Please do not feed the cat because it appears to be very friendly and wanting. A cat is a free spirit, and why should it go to its own home for its food when it can stop off with you for its lunch daily?

This unfortunately is one way that a beloved pet becomes a stray and leaves a family distraught at not knowing where their pet is.

We, and the owners of lost cats, are very grateful to people who take a cat that looks very poorly and probably homeless to their local vets to get it checked for a microchip. We have cats registered with us ‘as Lost/Found’ since last year.   If only they had been  ‘chipped’ they  would by now have been returned to their owner.

There was a cat  found in Brenchley last year 10 weeks after it had gone missing from Wadhurst.  Cat and Owner were both delighted to be reunited and all because the cat had been microchipped.

We will do anything within our capabilities to help any cat BUT we have very limited shelter space so should you feel  you have a genuine stray cat, please take it to your local vet and have it scanned for a microchip.
