Pepsi

We urgently need an extra special home for our Pepsi!
Pepsi came to the Cats Protection in January this year, because her previous owners were emigrating.
Pepsi is a black cat with the sweetest face and the loveliest old eyes that you’ve ever seen. When you look at her, you just have to smile and stay to give her a little fuss.  That’s what our Pepsi loves the most, attention and being stroked. She will thank you for it with consistent and contented purring. Often, she lies in her bed, stretches out one little leg to paw the glass door of her pen. This usually means: “Hello! Do you have time for a cuddle?”
Therefore we are looking for owners, who never tire of giving plenty of TLC and are at home for most of the day.
Another one of Pepsi’s favourite activities is to lounge about and relax in her tepee-style bed or have a well deserved sleep.  We would prefer that Pepsi can spend her twilight years in a quiet home, where she can indulge in having forty winks undisturbed.
Also, very big on Pepsi’s agenda is food. She simply loves it and will jump out of her warm and cosy tepee bed like a youngster to investigate what’s on the daily menu.
Despite her age, Pepsi is not impartial to a piece of string either, and still enjoys little play sessions. She tries to catch the end of the string by patting it with her paw. She does this mainly lying down, like a true lady of leisure.
Pepsi may be a golden oldie, but she never fails to brighten your day.

You may wonder why we need an extra special home for this gorgeous lady.
The Cats Protection carries out numerous routine health checks for long-stays and golden oldies. During one of these checks, an x-ray revealed two masses on Pepsi’s lungs. Our vet rightly decided not to put Pepsi through an operation to remove the masses for further investigation. The anaesthetic and the surgery would have been an enormous strain on an elderly cat like Pepsi, who may not have pulled through. We support our vet’s decision, as this lady does not show any signs of ill health or discomfort whatsoever and continues to enjoy the little pleasures in her life.
It is, therefore uncertain whether or not these tumours are malignant or benign. Pepsi may yet have wonderful months or even years ahead of her. Although we love her so much and would be very sad to see her leave, we continue looking for that extra special home for her. If you are willing to give this wonderful cat a loving and caring home, then please visit our shelter to meet her. The Cats Protection is happy to financially support the new owners with veterinary bills for Pepsi. We fully understand that it is not an easy decision for anyone to adopt an older and potentially ill cat, but maybe you can find it in your heart to be Pepsi’s special someone as she will undoubtedly be yours.
