Manifesto for Cats: Northern Ireland

manifesto for northern ireland cats protectioncats protection northern ireland manifestoCats are hugely popular pets – the most recent survey statistics* reveal that 13% of households in Northern Ireland own one or more cats. That's an estimated 130,000 cats.

Animal welfare has been high on the political agenda, with several high profile cruelty cases and the Government committing to increasing sentences for exteme cases of cruelty towards animals. Cats Protection seeks to improve the lives of cats in Northern Ireland. Our Manifesto for Cats: Northern Ireland calls for a range of measures including greater promotion of neutering and updated law on the breeding and sale of cats.

The Manifesto for Cats: Northern Ireland was launched in March 2016. It is particularly important that we keep cat welfare on the political agenda.

What can I do?

Together we can help create a better world for cats.
