Urgent appeal for fosterers

Do you love cats? Do you live in a WV postcode?

Wolverhampton Cats Protection has an ever growing number of cats that need to come into care but we have nowhere to put them. We are urgently appealing for additional fosterers in the Wolverhampton area who can offer an abandoned cat – like some of our current residents, pictured opposite – somewhere to stay until they find their forever home.

Do you have room in your home to foster a cat or do you know someone who might have time to become a fosterer? Then read on.
  • As a fosterer you can have between 1 and 3 cats to look after.
  • If you already have your own cats you can still foster as long as the foster cats are kept separate in a self contained area or room as during their stay with you they are unable to go outdoors. Typically this is a spare room where you can set up a bed, litter tray and a water and feeding area.
  • We give full support and provide everything that's needed, including food, cat litter, and equipment, so you incur no costs.
  • We cover any vets fees that may occur from time to time whilst a cat is in your care and if you do not have your own transport and a trip to the vet is required we can arrange this.
All anyone really needs to become a fosterer is a safe home, some patience, and time to care for the cats. Many cats need homes only for a short period – maybe a few days or sometimes a few weeks – and we always talk to our volunteers first before placing a cat with them.

Undoubtedly, the biggest benefit to fostering for animal lovers is the knowledge that you're actively helping an animal progress towards a better future. Sometimes this can be the first time in its life that the cat has felt safe, cared for and loved.
