Event Overview

Do something amazing and jump to raise funds for your local Cats Protection branch or centre. Combine the most exciting and exhilarating moment of your life with raising funds to help cats.

Zip World Velocity, Bethesda, is the fastest zip line in the world and the longest in Europe. Take in the stunning views from the Big Top of Velocity, out towards Anglesey with views of the Isle of Man on a clear day! You will then descend down the Big Zipper over the quarry lake often reaching speeds well in excess of 100mph!

We ask you to pay a non-refundable registration fee of £25 and pledge to raise a minimum of £120. We will provide you with full support and ideas to ensure you feel confident in raising the pledged sponsorship and give you a yellow branded bandana to wear while you zip through the air.

Age 10 years and upwards – under 17s MUST have a participating adult accompanying them.

We understand the commitment, courage and thought that goes into participating in a challenge event on behalf of Cats Protection and promise we will do our very best to give you all the help and support you need to have a successful challenge and raise lots of much needed funds to help us care for cats and kittens.

Arrival from 9.30am - must arrive by 11am

Group breakfast from 9.30am - 11am

11.20am - first zippers go up in groups of 12

For those wishing to enjoy the views but without the flying, climb aboard the former military vehicles which will take you on a fascinating journey through Penrhyn Quarry to the top where there are views out to Ireland on a clear day. A commentary about the history of the quarry is available to download on your smartphone from reception.

The quarry tour is the ideal way to join in the adventure. Guests are collected from outside reception and taken to the finish of the ‘Little Zipper’.

From here, you will be transported up the quarry road to Velocity Big Top. Along the journey there is evidence of an industrious past which our professional drivers will bring to life with their knowledge and compelling stories.

Once at the summit you will watch riders fly down the mile long zip line before being returned in the same vehicle back to reception.
