Concerns have been raised about hygiene and animal welfare at a new cat cafe in Leicester.
Dominic Shellard, vice chancellor of the city's De Montfort University, said he was "very disturbed" about both the cleanliness of the recently-opened Cats, Cakes and Coffee establishment and the state-of-mind of its ten resident cats.
CP has said it is "concerned about the welfare implications of having a number of cats in a limited space with groups of people unknown to them coming and going throughout the day," adding that it does not wish to encourage the launch of such establishments.
