8 Precious Weeks
Every kitten should be able to spend their first eight weeks of life in the care of their mother. Only then are they healthy and independent enough to be separated from her.

Together this winter, we need your help to raise awareness about unscrupulous mis-selling of kittens and how to spot the signs of kittens being taken from their mother too early. We need your support in raising vital funds for our branch in order to continue to provide care to cats and kittens in the Armagh branch area.

If kittens miss out on this key time with mum (the queen) it can be problematic for their development and health e.g. missing out on their mother's milk for nourishment & immune system development, early socialisation. Have a look at Cats Protection's video which shows how crucial the first 8 weeks are for a kitten and the steps that should be taken before they are ready to leave their mum:
