2022 Calendar Competition is now OPEN!

09 April 2021
We are planning to produce our own calendar again for 2022 (yes already), and as in previous years, would like it to be made up of pictures and stories of your cats and kittens, so we are again running a photo competition to choose which cats will appear in the Calendar. Your cat or cats do not have to have been adopted from our branch.

We need 12 lovely pictures and stories for our Calendar, and its free to enter, so hope that we will receive lots of entries. The overall winning entry will receive a £10 voucher to spend on our cat or new goods stalls at one of our events/Homing Shows and a free copy of the calendar, and your cat will appear on the front of the calendar AND one of the monthly pages. The 11 runners up will each receive a free copy of the calendar and their pictures will appear on a monthly sheet. We will also have another page featuring some of the other photos submitted which don't make it to the final 12, so even if you are not a winner, your cat could still be starring in our calendar.

Your entry should consist of a good quality picture of your cat, preferably landscape orientation (long side across the top), along with information about your cat, in no more than 100 words. You can enter as many pictures as you like and again this year, there will be no entry fee, so the more photos you submit, the better. Please send pictures uncropped, so that we can crop for best effect in the calendar. Pictures should ideally be of landscape orientation and be clear and not blurry. For pictures sent via email, the higher the resolution the better, but they should be of at least 1MB, preferably higher.  Also please be aware of the background to your picture as in previous years we have received some lovely pictures of cats but the background has been too distracting, so the pictures could not be used.

The competition closes on the 30th June 2021, so please do send in your entries as soon as possible. This can be done in two ways:

1. By post with a hard copy of the photo and your story about the cat pictured in no more than 100 words to Moggies Mag, c/o 2 Reed Pond Walk , Langdon Hills, SS16 6AX .
Please enclose a stamped self addressed envelope if you would like your photo returned to you.

2. By email to moggiesmag@bascats.org.uk  with your story about the cat pictured in no more than 100 words

The judges will again be the Editors of Moggies Mag, our branch magazine, and their decision will be final. We do hope you will take part in the competition and help us to produce next year's Branch calendar.

Copies of the calendar, which will be printed in colour, should be on sale from mid August onwards, we hope.
