Enniskillen woman, self proclaimed cat enthusiast and friend of the Belfast Adoption Centre - Marie Holmes, will be taking part in Cats Protection's Himalaya Trek and Tiger Conservation Experience in October 2018.
Marie's adventure will see her negotiating mountainous terrian in the Himalayan range, reaching altitutes of 2,842 meters and trekking for around 7 to 9 hours a day! Marie's feat will then culminate in the Kanha National Park (place of inspiration for the Rudyard Kipling novel The Jungle Book) where she will be undertaking essential conservation work to help the local tiger population.
Marie and her family have adopted feline companions (albeit of the smaller domestic moggie variety!) from the Belfast Adoption Centre in the past and Marie has kindly agreed to donate all funds raised from her fundraising efforts to the homeless cats and kittens in need at the Belfast Adoption Centre.
