Hands Free Rehoming Success
12 October 2020
Like most places, since April we’ve had to rethink the way we do things to ensure we keep the public and our staff and volunteers safe and so we introduced hands free rehoming to ensure our cats can still find their forever home. Since mid-April this new method has been a great success and we have rehomed around 306 cats. (*Figure to the end of September)
We believe that this new process is working really well as we've noticed our shy cats and the older ones aren’t being overlooked as much, which is fantastic.
How it works
All of the cats in our care that are available for adoption are listed on our website. If you find a cat on there that pulls at your heart strings, you can then register your interest and if we think it sounds like you’ll be a good match, then we will arrange a phone call with you.
Once we’ve had a chat to find out a bit more about you and shared more information about the cat’s needs, if it’s sounding like you’ll be a match made in heaven, then we will ask you to complete a home finder questionnaire, which is something we would ask you to do had you come into the centre.
After this we will arrange a video call so that you can meet the cat virtually and get an idea of their personality and temperament.
We always ask you to sleep on it before making your final decision and if everyone is happy we then go ahead with the official paperwork. The paperwork is done via email or over the phone and then the final part, your new family member is dropped off at your home.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support during such a difficult year, we hope you are all keeping safe and we hope to see you again in the near future.
