National Volunteer Week 2021
01 June 2021
This week is National Volunteers’ Week and we would like to take the opportunity to say a big thank you to all of our volunteers.
It’s been a tough 12 months and many of our volunteers haven’t been able to come into the Centre due to the covid-19 pandemic and we’ve really missed them! However, the patience and support which they have given us throughout this challenging time has been invaluable. Our Centre volunteers have kept in touch, offering support where they can and overall, they have made a difficult time a little easier even though they have not been able to come in. One of our volunteers has even been knitting cat hats to help raise funds for the centre in lockdown. Our remote volunteers, who manage social media and the website, have kept plodding on despite us dealing with so much uncertainty and for that we are truly grateful.
We’re slowly working on reintroducing our Cat Care Assistant volunteers to the Centre in compliance with regulations and we’re already noticing such a difference. We really rely on our volunteers and we have more than 60 at our Centre in a variety of different roles, from cat care to hand rearing, events, fundraising, social media and website support. So we’ve really felt their absence during the lockdowns!
We hope to see a lot more of our volunteers over the next 12 months; we’ve missed you and we’re delighted to have you working with us – thank you for your patience, support and hard work!
