Our Paw-some Afternoon Tea success
21 June 2019
We recently hosted our annual Paw-some Afternoon Tea event at the Adoption Centre and despite the rain (it wouldn’t be a British tea party without a little rain!), it was a brilliant afternoon and we raised around £550 for the Centre.
We had a variety of stalls, including; a Cats Protection info and merchandise stall, which featured some beautiful pom-pom cats made by our volunteer Kerry; a jam stall of which all the jams were made by one of the volunteers from Cats Protection North Birmingham; a tombola with an array of prizes that were donated to us over the last few months; an educational stall for children and a deliciously delightful cake stall, which was filled with treats baked by some of our employees and volunteers, and their families. From cupcakes and cookies to flapjacks and banana cake, we had it all!
As well as the stalls, we had some fun lawn games and we had the pleasure of listening to one of the singers from mother daughter group ‘Together’ throughout the afternoon. We also opened our maternity ward, which is usually closed to the public, for educational tours and of course, a sneak peek at some of the new-born kittens we have onsite.
We’d like to thank everyone who came along to see us and show support, all the money raised goes back into the Centre and looking after the cats in our care.
We’d also like to thank our paw-some volunteers and employees who helped put on the event, from making decorations and cakes to hosting stalls and helping get everything ready, we couldn't have done this without their help.
Have a paw-some summer and see you again next year!
