MarmaladeBlandford & Sturminster Newton

Marmalade is an unusual case as we are trying to secure a home for her but not for while yet as her current owner, who is terminally ill, is able to still care for her for the foreseeable future.

Marmalade is a semi feral garden cat but over the last few years she has grown to trust her owner and will now happily rub round her legs purring in the kitchen - whilst her food is being prepared! She does venture indoors but spooks easily. Occasionally her owner can now stroke her. We are working with Marmalade’s owner to try and build the trust and time spent indoors so that it will be easier to home her when the time comes.

Marmalade is a bit of a prima donna and very fluffy so is not suitable to be homed as a stable/farm cat.

Ideally we would like to find someone who is prepared to take Marmalade into their home. She will need to be kept in for some considerable time; this could be a few months, until she has built up a trust with the new owner. We have done this in the past and although the cat spent the first month under the bed, they are now a loving ‘normal’ cat who goes in and out and comes for cuddles. Of course, we cannot guarantee this will be the case with Marmalade, so any new owner must be prepared to love her even if she does simply use them as a hotel! She will need a home with no other pets.

Are you the kind person who will give Marmalade the time and space she needs to settle into a new home when her current owner is no longer able to look after her?
