Cats Protection ‘go fishing’ for kittens in dramatic rescue

Four kittens stuck in a six-inch gap between buildings were rescued thanks to a £1.79 child’s fishing net and a broom handle. Quick-thinking volunteers from Cats Protection’s Gwent Branch taped the net and broom together, balanced on a step ladder and reached into a tiny gap between a wall and a conservatory.

A cat and her four kittens have been found abandoned in a mushroom box by the side of a road in Cornwall. The cardboard box, which had ‘closed cap mushrooms’ printed on the side, was spotted by two members of the public.

Saffi the rescue kitten celebrates 22nd birthday

A scrawny kitten found abandoned at the former Blyth Power Station in Northumberland in 1997 is celebrating reaching the grand old age of 22. Saffi was rescued by Cats Protection when she was just four weeks old and placed in the care of a fosterer in Ashington.

Kittens rescued from locked car after 2,000 mile voyage from Cyprus to UK

Three tiny kittens have survived a week trapped inside a car with no food or water on a voyage from Cyprus to the UK. The kittens were discovered inside a vehicle midway through a 2,000-mile journey from Limassol in Cyprus to Southampton.
