
In 2018, black-and-white cat Tasha was finally offered a forever home after spending a year in the care of Cats Protection’s Gateshead & Newcastle Branch. In return, the three-year-old moggy has enriched the life of her new owner Phil Sherry, by helping him with his mental health struggles.

Cats Protection’s Gateshead & Newcastle Branch is urging cat owners to neuter their pets after assisting with the traumatic births of two litters of kittens within 24 hours.

Kittens may be cute, but older cats still have a lot of love and purrs to give those looking for the purrfect feline companion. Sadly, mature moggies aged 11 and older in Cats Protection’s care take over twice as long to find their forever home as their younger counterparts.

Camilla and her newborn kittens were found taped up in a box at a recycling centre. The branch was alerted by a member of public who came across the abandoned family, who were distressed, cold and hungry.
