
Working with animals is the only thing that I've ever wanted to do with my life. The specifics changed somewhat over the years; from vet to marine biologist, to opening my own rescue centre, but the direction was always the same and animals were always at the core of it.

An inspirational cat lover from Shepton Mallet, Somerset, is gearing up to run her 66th marathon for Cats Protection, despite suffering from a serious health condition.

In autumn 2015 a sorry little tabby-and-white-cat was handed into our local vets by a concerned cat lover. It was a young, neglected male kitten who had been found in a gutter in Shepton Mallet with his leg trapped in a drain.

Cassie first came into the care of the Glastonbury & Wells Branch of Cats Protection as a young un-neutered stray complete with a litter of kittens.
