When six-year-old Harley arrived at Gosport Cats Protection in January 2018, he was rarely seen by his fosterer, Heather Wood. Her very first foster cat, he would spend his days hiding away in a cardboard cat house in his pen, only coming out at night to eat and use his litter tray.

Rescue cat Vince – who has been given up for adoption twice in a few months – has been dubbed the most unlucky cat in Hampshire. White-and-black Vince first came into the care of Cats Protection’s Gosport Branch in March after his owner could no longer care for him.

A cat who was missing for three weeks is back at home after Cats Protection used microchip details to trace his owner. Eleven-year-old Horace went missing from his home in Southsea, Hampshire, in April and was later found 15 miles away in the grounds of Lee-on-the-Solent Infant School.

Sixteen-year-old Dotty came into the care of the branch in November 2016 having lived with one owner since a kitten and kept as an indoor cat. New rules by the landlord meant that Dotty wasn't allowed to stay in her home and she was reluctantly handed over to Cats Protection.

Remember Poppy, the malnourished, flea-ridden kitten that was signed over to the care of Cats Protection’s Gosport Town Branch? Thanks to plenty of love and care, slowly but surely Poppy progressed and gained weight.

Little Poppy was just 14 weeks old when she was signed over to the Gosport Town Branch of Cats Protection. Her owner couldn’t cope with looking after Poppy or her mum, four-year-old Josie.
