Ten-month-old Priscilla was found by a volunteer at our Atherton & Wigan Branch while she was living at an abattoir. Sadly she managed to get her leg caught in some machinery resulting in the loss of her paw, so she was rushed straight to a vet.

Long-stay cat Tashie was brought into our Wrexham & District Adoption Centre after falling pregnant with her second litter. She spent nearly six months in our care waiting for that special person to come along and offer her a loving home.

Imagine you are a cat and that late in life you have the misfortune to develop chronic kidney disease that has raised your blood pressure to such a level that it has caused both retinas to detach.

Dotty arrived in our care in mid-February 2015 when she was 15 years old. Her owner was unfortunately too ill to look after her any more.

In the summer of 2014, Cats Protection’s Fareham & Waterlooville Districts Branch took in an elderly cat called Butch after his original owner died and no-one in the family could take him in.

We hear so many people telling us they need to give up their cat because someone is allergic to them so this is a very heart-warming story we wanted to share.

Cats in our care come from a variety of backgrounds – while some have come from loving homes others may have been strays, abandoned or mistreated. As a result some may be fearful or shy, which also means that they can take longer to rehome.

Camilla and her newborn kittens were found taped up in a box at a recycling centre. The branch was alerted by a member of public who came across the abandoned family, who were distressed, cold and hungry.

While busy with chores, Elspeth Rijbroek, newsletter editor at the Guildford & Godalming Branch spotted a box, discarded at the side of a noisy road. At first she thought it was just litter, but then she noticed a tail sticking out of it. Rushing over, she found two cute, scared little kittens.

We adopted Alfie, a tabby domestic shorthair and Delia, a black-and-white domestic longhair from Cats Protection in January after losing our last old cat Marcel at Christmas.
