Community Kitty Update
17 August 2020
Since the branch, in collaboration with Wokingham Foodbank, launched its Community Kitty scheme at the end of July, the initiative has been going from strength to strength.
The Community Kitty scheme is in the process of being launched nationally by Cats Proection, and the Bracknell and Wokingham Districts branch is in the first group of branches putting together a local scheme. Cats Protection are now looking to roll the scheme out to further branches in the UK. The scheme is particularly aimed at helping those who are vulnerable and struggling financially during this difficult time, by helping to supply cat food it is hoped this will avoid owners feeling that they need to relinquish their cat, allowing the cat to remain in its existing loving home.
Pictured is the branches Welfare Officer, Annie Pack, along with Andy from Wokingham Foodbank, who is taking delivery of the first consignment of donated cat food.
We would particularly like to thank Mrs C A Hollidge for her incredibly generous donation of 2 x mega packs of Whiskas Pure Delight, as well as Nathan John Lyon who donated a box of IAMS Delights Kitten food and a box of Felix As Good As It Looks Ocean Feasts, along with all the other people who have donated anonymously so far.
