What we do
Cats Protection has been passionate about the welfare of cats since 1927!
We now help around 218,000 cats and kittens every year through our network of over 250 volunteer-run branches,
29 adoption centres and two homing centres.
Telford & District Cats Protection is run entirely by cat loving volunteers who work hard to look after the welfare of cats, organise local events, and keep you updated via the website and social media pages. We cover the Telford and surrounding areas such as Newport, Shifnal, Much Wenlock and Market Drayton. If you’re not sure if your area is included, please drop us a line.
If you find that you are unable to cope with a pet there may sadly be no other option but it rehome your cat. While some situations may be unavoidable, there are circumstances where you may be able to keep your cat. For further advice on making the decision to rehome your cat please visit https://www.cats.org.uk/help-and-advice/lost-found-and-feral-cats/rehoming
If you need to rehome your cat please email email@example.com. If you do not have access to email please telephone 01952 305645 to leave a message.
We are not a rescue centre; our cats are cared for either by volunteers in their own homes, or occasionally in a veterinary practice.
Before being rehomed, all our cats will have had a full health check, vaccines, neutering and microchips. They also come with 4 weeks free insurance through Petplan. We do charge an adoption fee to help with some of these costs and all prospective new families will have a home visit prior to adoption. If you are interested in giving one of our cats a forever home, please see our adopt a cat page and will in the online form within the cats profile, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively you can telephone us at 01952 305645.
Many cats are neutered too late in life, which contributes to the number of unwanted cats in the U.K. We can provide financial assistance with neutering costs for households on low income. Please email email@example.com to request a voucher.
