Cats Protection win Peoples Choice Award at the Charity Film Awards 2019

25 May 2019

Cats Protection HQ was the proud winner of the People’s Choice Award at the Charity Film Awards 2019 for the 2017 Christmas animation titled ‘Kozal’s Christmas.’

Based on a true story, the animation focused on the tale of 16 year old cat Kozal, who struggled to find a forever home in time for Christmas. The film aimed to raise awareness of our rehoming work, including the efforts of our excellent volunteers and staff that help to care for cats in our branches and centres.

The animation was a finalist in the £50,000,000+ category and was selected from over 400 films and videos submitted by charities nationally. Members of the public were invited to vote for their favourite film or animation, resulting in over 50,000 votes cast.

Digital Engagement Manager Gemma Croker from Cats Protection HQ said: “We are so delighted to win this as it shows how Kozal’s story has resonated with the public. We have so many older cats in our care looking for loving homes so we really hope it encourages more people to consider adopting one.”
