We welcome all new volunteers to help with our branch activities. It's hard work running a successful and proactive branch and it takes many people to help achieve this.
For more information about volunteering in general for a branch of Cats Protection download our VOLUNTEERING LEAFLET
PLEASE, PLEASE NOTE WE ARE A BRANCH OF CATS PROTECTION AND WE DO NOT HAVE ONE SINGLE PLACE WHERE ALL OUR CATS ARE RESIDING. THEREFORE VOLUNTEERS LOOKING TO HELP SOCIALISE, FEED, CLEAN OR CARE FOR CATS AND NOT ABLE TO FOSTER WOULD BE BEST ADVISED TO CONTACT THE MAIN ADOPTION CENTRES IN YOUR AREA. BREDHURST ADOPTION CENTRE IS THE NEAREST TO OUR BRANCH TEL 01634 232471
We also need more fosterers to help care for our rescued cats and kittens on a short term basis until a permanent home can be found for them. Fostering can be done inside the home if you have a suitable room, or if you have space in your garden we can supply an outside cabin and run. The branch pays for all the food and equipment needed and there is always plenty of advice, support and training in cat/kitten care. Please read the FOSTERING article un this section.
We are also looking for people who can help us with fundraising and could spare some time to rattle a collection tin, or help with our fundraising events.
We main volunteering "job" descriptions are to be found listed on the left tabs. But there are many other smaller roles that maybe suited to pople who have limited time to offer for volunteering. These can be anything from helping to distribute posters for events, taking cats to the vets for us, help with collection of donated goods, help with our cat food donations etc, etc.
Canterbury branch covers the follwoing catchment area CT1 to CT6 & ME13, if you are outside this area then please contact the branch that is closet to you. A listing of CP branches appears on the main CATS PROTECTION WEBSITE. Here you will also find lots of great information about what CP volunteers can get involved with (Under Get Involved) and Cats Protection charity as a whole. Well worth checking out!.
If you are interested in doing any volunteering work for our branch then please fill in the form below and tell us about yourself and what you would like to get involved with. The more information you give us the better, as it will allow us to suggest roles that match your skills and background.
At Cats Protection we help thousands of cats each year thanks to our dedicated and passionate volunteer groups and teams, all of which help our feline friends in a different ways. They take in stray and abandoned cats and ensure they receive the veterinary care and attention they deserve, help raise funds, promote neutering and help spread cat welfare messages. Our volunteer treasurers maintain the finances of local groups and teams, ensuring they hold the funds needed to continue their vital work. Cats Protection relies solely on donations from generous members of the public, and our volunteer treasurers help make sure these funds are spent in the most effective way.
