Home Visit Volunteering

Home Visit VolunteerCanterbury and District Cats Protection Branch needs volunteers to undertake their Home Visiting role.

This role means meeting people in their own homes to their suitability to adopt one of our cats explaining the role and support of Cats Protection and to complete some paperwork.
In all of our volunteering roles provide full support, help and advice in carrying out your role.

What is need for this work:
  • To want the best for the cats and kittens in our care and to provide some basic cat care advice
  • Have your own transport we will pay a mileage allowance
  • Be a people person, be able to engage in conversation and help to create a relaxed atmosphere where you can get honest and truthful responses from the potential adoptee
  • Be able to judge good character – or if you are unsure know when to speak to other colleagues to get views and opinions
  • Be able to complete our homing checklist and provide clear information about adoption
  • Be friendly and be able to quickly establish a professional view of the adoptee
