Adopt a Cat

Are you looking for a furry feline companion to add to your family? Consider adopting a cat from Dumfries Cats Protection. Nationally, Cats Protection rehome around 60,000 cats and kittens every year, and we are always seeking loving new homes for the cats and kittens in our care.

It is our policy not to advertise kittens because it is always easier for us to find new homes for kittens rather than older cats – indeed we usually have a waiting list of people looking for kittens, so please enquire if it is a kitten you are seeking – but please remember, an older cat can be equally rewarding as a member of your family.

You can view the cats in Dumfriesshire that are currently ready to be homed on our website or by contacting Fiona on 01387 710083. Home visits will be done over the phone, and cats can only be viewed online and will be delivered to their new home by a Cats Protection volunteer.

Our adoption fee is £100 per cat £120 per kitten and must be paid directly into our bank account by BACS. For more information about the homing process, visit www.cats.org.uk. If you can't find a suitable cat on our website, give us a call, or check our facebook page as not all cats in our care are on the website.
